1 -  Author Visit  -  

Duration 

• 1-   1 hr session for children 5-10 yrs., max 30 children.
• 2-   2 hr session for children of ages 10+ yrs., max 30 children.

Description 

Group 1      (ages 5-7 yrs)
STORYTIME & THEMED EXERCISE
Reading and light activity session - children will engage in a question and answer exercise followed by colouring, word search, drawing activities or games.
 

Group 2     (ages 8-10 yrs)
STORYTIME,  WRITING & DISCUSSION EXERCISE

Children will have a story followed by a short question and answer session, then indulge in activities that will encourage them to create and develop their ideas into stories. The story writing activity can be done individually or as a group.
 

Group 3     (ages 10 + yrs)
WRITING &  PERFORMING EXERCISE

In the first hour, students will work in groups to develop a story from prompts for a short story. In the second hour, they will read or prepare to perform their piece.

For the half-day session, I propose the children read their story or perform their piece to the school.

2 - Author's Pre-recorded Storytime Videos  -

Duration

 STORYTIME VIDEO AND ACTIVITY PACKAGE
A recorded video of under 10mins, with an audio voice reading by Patricia Clarkson, reading her book. The video will show the text and illustrated pages from the book read (if available). There are activities for the children to complete at the end of the video. Therefore, prepare for an extra 30mins+ per session. The package includes the files to print out for the question and answers exercises and activities for the children to do.
